We’re up all day and night
Gotta get the timing right
Feeling like I’m moving on
Even as I write the song
Waiting ‘til the moons align
And the stars are bright
Gotta make the mission clear
And I keep on waiting here
I just wanna get close to you
Moonrider
Tell me what I gotta do
To get higher
Do you wanna make room for two
Mood riser
Cause I wanna make room for you
Moonrider
We’re underneath the moon tonight
Waiting ‘til the stars are clear
Waiting ‘til the mood is right
Girl its just you and I
Gonna make our way up high
Up into the sky above
Now it’s time to make you move
Girl you know you’re just what I like
I just wanna get close to you
Moonrider
Tell me what I gotta do
To get higher
Do you wanna make room for two
Moonrider, rider, rider
Moonrider, rider, rider yeah
Moonrider, rider, rider
Moonrider, rider, rider yeah
Moonrider, rider, rider
We’re underneath the moon tonight
Waiting ‘til the stars are clear
Waiting ‘til the mood is right
Girl its just you and I
Gotta make our way up high
Up into the sky above
Now it’s time to make you move
Girl you know you’re just what I like
Moonrider
Girl you know you’re just what I like
Moonrider
Girl it’s just you and I
Moonrider
Moonrider
Moonrider

about
Boogie Angst is proud to present ‘Moonrider,’ the latest single from Rotterdam- based artist Moods and Australian trio daste.
As the follow-up to ‘Control,’ which saw the Dutch label-favorite link up with rising neo- R&B duo Two Another, the latest collaborative single continues a steady run of original releases from Moods (real name Nick Lubbersen) following the release of his landmark debut LP, ZOOM OUT.
A grooving and easy paced homage to the sci-fi genre, ‘Moonrider’ encapsulates the soulful and retrospective charm that has continued to catapult Moods into the spotlight, with the up-and-coming Gold Coast act joining for a nostalgic nod to the pursuit of outer space.
“The instrumental demo I sent to daste. was heavily influenced by sci-fi films and the idea of actually being out in space,” explains Nick. “My main focus was creating sounds that didn't make sense at first. But in a certain context it could work. It was a labour of complete weird bleepy chaos, using various synths just to sprinkle that around on the track as you hear now.” daste. add: “The demo caught our attention immediately. It had such an eccentric, sci-fi vibe. We could hear a lot of references to a mission involving the stars and the moon in Callum’s initial lyrics which gave us the idea for the focus expression ‘moonrider’. It became about the moon and the unreachable goal of getting up there and seeing the universe together.”
With more than 80m streams on Spotify and a handful of international touring duties under his belt, Moods new single adds to a bumper year of releases from Boogie Angst, who are also home to Kraak & Smaak, Saux, Secret Rendezvous, David Harks, and Snacks.
Join these maniacs as they take you on the illest, smoothest, and sexiest road trip you ever been on. With genius cuts, flips, and beats that will never leave your headspace. Bboy OATS&RICE
